Job summary

Micron Technology, Singapore, is seeking a capable Engineer to perform electrical and physical failure analysis on device anomalies, customer returns, and qualification failures, using advanced FA tools and scripting to improve data quality.

You will collaborate with process owners and product teams, develop new FA techniques, drive continuous improvement, and ensure lab safety while maintaining 6S standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering is required.
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills.

• Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
• Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.
• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and AI literacy to use Al-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and physical failure analysis for device anomalies, customer returns, and qualification failures.
• Apply advanced FA tools including FIB/EDX, SEM, Ion Millers, CSAM, 2D/3D X-ray, Emmi systems, micro-prober and bench tester.
• Analyze test data failures using Bash/Python scripting in a Unix environment.
• Analyze electrical signatures and physical defects to resolve failure mechanisms.
• Collaborate with process owners and Product teams to drive improvement actions.
• Develop and implement new FA techniques to reduce turnaround time and enhance accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and embrace standards for FA workflows.
• Prepare detailed FA reports and maintain accurate records for traceability.
• Present findings to requestors, MRB and multi-functional teams.
• Provide guidance to FA technicians and lead workload distribution.
• Work closely with vendors for tool upgrades and capability improvements.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools and digital solutions to accelerate failure analysis investigations, improve problem-solving efficiency, and enhance decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to apply automation, data analytics, and AI technologies to optimize FA workflows, reduce turnaround time, and improve operational effectiveness.
