Job summary

UNI-TAT ICE & MARKETING PTE LTD is seeking a hands-on automation engineer to integrate production equipment, robotics, and digital systems into a reliable factory workflow. You will lead automation projects, coordinate vendors, and work with operations, maintenance, IT, and suppliers across sites, including Johor Bahru.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience integrating production equipment with software systems.
• Willing to travel between sites, including Johor Bahru.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate workflows across production, packing, palletizing, storage, dispatch, and maintenance.
• Lead automation projects from requirements through installation, testing, commissioning and handover, coordinating vendors.
• Connect production equipment with business and maintenance systems to monitor status, alarms, downtime and maintenance.
• Support operation and preventive maintenance of ice-making, packaging, conveyors, CNC equipment and related machinery.
• Investigate recurring faults and bottlenecks and implement practical improvements.
• Document workflows and procedures for production and maintenance teams.

About The Role

We are looking for a hands-on engineer to integrate production equipment, robotics, and digital systems into a reliable factory workflow. You will lead automation projects, improve equipment reliability, and work closely with operations, maintenance, IT, and equipment vendors.

Key Responsibilities

● Design and integrate workflows across production, packing, palletizing, storage, dispatch, and equipment maintenance. Define how equipment and systems work together to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

● Lead automation projects from requirements and workflow design through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. Coordinate vendors implementing solutions such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), robotic palletizers, and automated packaging machines.

● Work with the in-house IT team and vendors to connect production equipment with business and maintenance systems, including equipment status, alarms, downtime, and maintenance records. Use this data to support AI-assisted equipment monitoring.

● Support the operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of ice-making, bagging and sealing machines, conveyor systems, CNC equipment, and related production equipment alongside the maintenance team and vendors.

● Investigate recurring faults and production bottlenecks, implement practical solutions, and check that they improve equipment reliability and production flow.

● Document equipment workflows and operating procedures, and help production and maintenance teams use new systems effectively.

Requirements

● Diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Software Engineering and Computer Science backgrounds are welcome with relevant industrial experience.

● Practical experience integrating production equipment, industrial automation, or machines with software systems. Familiarity with sensors, machine controls, equipment data, or AI-assisted maintenance is an advantage.

● Strong troubleshooting and project coordination skills; comfortable working on the factory floor with vendors and production, maintenance, and IT teams.

● Willing to travel between company operation sites, including short trips to Johor Bahru.
