Job summary

AEM Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Facilities Technician to ensure smooth operation, maintenance and reliability of all company facilities and equipment in Singapore. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs to support a safe, efficient work environment.

The role requires a NITEC or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, at least 3 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, and strong Excel, communication, and coordination

Qualifications

• NITEC or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy.

Job Summary

The Facilities Technician ensures smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of company facilities and equipment by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, coordinating repairs, and supporting a safe, efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure facility functionality


• Diagnose and resolve equipment and facility issues promptly to minimise operational disruptions


• Maintain and repair facility fixtures and infrastructure such as lighting, doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and flooring


• Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in compliance with safety standards and regulations


• Maintain and calibrate facility-related equipment to ensure operational accuracy


• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with external vendors or service providers for repairs


• Support initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability


• Follow workplace safety procedures and comply with regulatory requirements to maintain a safe environment


• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards


• Participate in emergency response activities, safety drills, and incident management to ensure preparedness


• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repair works for operational and audit purposes


• Update maintenance logs and prepare reports to support operational requirements


• Collaborate with Facilities, Operations, EHS, and other internal departments to coordinate maintenance activities efficiently


• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely maintenance and repairs


• Provide timely updates and communicate maintenance status effectively to stakeholders


• Identify opportunities to improve facility efficiency, reliability, sustainability, and cost effectiveness


• Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in facility management to drive continuous improvement

Required competencies and certifications

• NITEC or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline


• Minimum 3 years of facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel


• Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills demonstrated through effective stakeholder engagement and maintenance coordination


• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to maintenance issues under minimal supervision


• Comfortable interacting with vendors, suppliers, and external service providers to facilitate maintenance activities


• Preparedness to be on standby and return to the workplace within 2 hours during emergencies to ensure rapid response
