Job summary

Micron is seeking a Chemical & Gas Engineer to join our Singapore facilities, supporting design, startup, and operations of high-purity chemical and gas systems. You will ensure code compliance, operate with safety as a core standard, and collaborate across engineering teams to optimize performance and reliability.

With 2+ years in semiconductor chemical/gas environments, you will analyze systems, maintain data records, and participate in infrastructure planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as Chemical & Gas Engineer.
• Strong collaboration teammate with good communication and presentation skills to show strong problem solving and analytical skills!
• Relevant high purity chemical and gas experience in operation / maintenance and engineering in semiconductor/electronic/ wafer fab industry (for example work as Total Chemical and Gas Management engineer in similar industry).
• Familiar and relevant experience on operating and maintaining chemical and gas equipment or system such asValve manifold box (VMB), Chemical Dispense Machine (CDM), Gas Cabinet (GC) or Bulk Specialty Gas System (BSGS) , etc.
• Involved in trouble shooting and problem solving methodology such as 8D problem solving method, 5Why Root cause analysis methods, Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) procedures, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Words, PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering study including design practice for state-of-the-art system designs.
• Maintain engineering databases for capacity tracking and project management.
• Support start-up of new equipment and ensure proper interfaces with other systems.
• Review and ensure designs meet all codes/regs (IFC, IBC, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
• Perform studies on emerging technologies to support semiconductor processes.
• Plan infrastructure for facilities in line with company plan.
• Coordinate with TGCM contractor for chemical and gas delivery systems.
• Review/ improve SOPs and RA for operations.
• Troubleshoot system issues with contractors and OEMs.
• Ensure safety guidelines are met and communicate across teams.
• Lead continuous improvement by identifying AI-enabled enhancements.
• Plan facility changes for layouts and compliance with laws/regulations.
• Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms for design criteria.
• Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities.
• Estimate design costs including equipment and labor.
• Inspect construction progress to specs and schedules.
• Develop criteria to meet operating requirements and safety codes.
• Integrate AI tools into daily work for efficiency and quality improvements.
