Job summary

OAKTREE CONSULTING in Singapore seeks an Engineer to drive fabrication projects from kick-off to handover. You will plan, monitor progress and deliverables, produce drawings and calculations, and collaborate with procurement and QA/QC to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering with 2+ years in steel fabrication, strong AutoCAD (2D) skills, and knowledge of welding processes. Effective communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering, ideally Marine or Offshore related.
• At least 2 years in Steel Fabrication (preferred).
• Familiar with 2D AutoCAD; 3D modelling is an advantage.
• Solid grasp of steel fabrication processes and standards.
• Welding processes knowledge: SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW.

Responsibilities

• Take fabrication projects from kick-off through to handover, overseeing planning, progress and delivery.
• Produce construction drawings, work methodologies, procedures, engineering calculations and risk assessments.
• Compile Material Take-Off (MTO) lists and work with procurement on vendor selection.
• Allocate and schedule manpower, materials and equipment to keep projects moving.
• Build inspection plans with QA/QC and arrange third-party inspections.
• Monitor fabrication progress with production team and keep stakeholders updated.
• Resolve site queries and ensure day-to-day activities comply with HSE requirements.
