Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Mechanical Engineer in Singapore to lead and manage building mechanical construction for semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments.

You will oversee HVAC, exhaust, utility systems, and compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical Standards and contamination-control requirements, ensuring safety and readiness for equipment and manufacturing milestones.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of experience in semiconductor fab, cleanroom, or high-tech industrial projects.
• Proven experience leading cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, and utility systems through commissioning and handover.
• Strong understanding of contamination control principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical systems including cleanroom HVAC and recirculation.
• Coordinate with Electrical, I&C, Process, CSA, and tool-hookup teams.
• Review and approve mechanical design packages and submissions.
• Ensure compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical and Cleanroom standards.
• Lead mechanical RFIs, deviations, and field changes.
• Lead commissioning plans and test results for RFE/RFM readiness.
• Handover and support Operations with O&M manuals and turnover.
• Provide safety leadership for reviews and hazard assessments.

Mechanical engineering and construction include (but not limited to) governance to ensure mechanical system serving semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments. The role ensures cost and budget planning, monitoring and controlling that cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, chilled water, fire protection, CDA, PCW and any other dry and wet mechanical utility systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and handed over in compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical Standards, contamination‑control requirements, safety regulations, and Fab milestones including Cleanroom Pressurization, Ready For Equipment (RFE), and Ready For Manufacturing (RFM). Additional responsibilities include facilities maintenance, facilities administration and mechanical related maintenance, documentation and administration.Responsibilities and TasksTechnical Leadership & Engineering OversightAs the discipline lead for mechanical systems including:Cleanroom HVAC and recirculation systemsMake‑up air units (MAUs), FFUs, interstitial plenumsProcess exhaust systems (General, Acid, Solvent, Toxic)Chilled water, process vacuum, and mechanical utilitiesReview and approve mechanical design packages, specifications, and technical submissions.Ensure full compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical and Cleanroom standards.Construction Execution & CoordinationLead mechanical coordination with Electrical, I&C, Process, CSA, and tool‑hookup teams.Resolve complex site engineering issues and cross‑discipline conflicts.Support construction sequencing critical to cleanroom integrity and contamination control.Chair or lead mechanical coordination and cleanroom readiness meetings.Change Management & Technical AuthorityLead the discussion for mechanical RFIs, deviations, and field changes.Evaluate change impacts to system performance, cleanroom conditions, safety, cost, and schedule.Support change approval processes with technical justifications.Commissioning, RFE & RFM ReadinessLead mechanical readiness for:Cleanroom blowdown and pressurization stagesTemperature, humidity, pressure, and airflow complianceRFE and RFM milestone achievementReview and approve mechanical commissioning plans and test results.Ensure mechanical systems are stable and production‑ready before handover.Handover & Operations SupportReview and approve mechanical as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.Support transition to Facilities Operations and reliability teams.Capture lessons learned and support standard improvements.Safety & EHS LeadershipProvide mechanical discipline leadership for safety reviews and hazard assessments.Ensure exhaust, gas room ventilation, and hazardous systems meet safety and regulatory requirements.Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.8–12+ years of experience in semiconductor fab, cleanroom, or high‑tech industrial projects.Proven experience leading cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, and utility systems through commissioning and handover.Strong understanding of contamination control principles.About Micron Technology, Inc.We are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
