Job summary

Micron Singapore is seeking an Operations Control Specialist to drive daily production control in a semiconductor fab. You will manage wafer starts, WIP, and offload processes while using AI-enabled tools to optimize flow and decision making.

You will work with Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Automation teams, applying digital fluency and AI literacy to maintain inventory accuracy and improve performance. Cleanroom safety and non‑standard hours apply.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Engineering or Science is required, or relevant hands‑on semiconductor manufacturing and fab operations experience.
  • Experience in a semiconductor fab environment (Manufacturing, Operations, Warehouse, or related functions) is preferred.
  • Able to work non‑standard hours, including compressed schedules and 12‑hour night shifts.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom and wear cleanroom attire (fully smocked as required).
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools for research, analysis, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production control activities including wafer lot starts, lot monitoring, FOUP management, offload operations, and WIP management.
  • Utilize data analytics and AI-enabled tools to monitor production flow, identify bottlenecks, and support timely decisions on material movement.
  • Support offload send/receive operations with accurate documentation and system transactions.
  • Monitor production performance indicators and proactively identify abnormalities and risks to engineers and teams.
  • Leverage AI-assisted insights and dashboards to analyze production trends and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Warehouse, Equipment Engineering, Automation, and other cross-functional teams to resolve material flow issues.
  • Perform accurate transaction processing within MES, SAP, and other manufacturing systems to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Provide first-level troubleshooting of dispatch, logistics, automation, or system issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Generate shift summaries, handover reports, and operational updates to improve communication and reduce admin effort.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through standardization and automation of AI-enabled processes.
  • Maintain high standards of discipline, data accuracy, quality, safety, and compliance across operations.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing AI-enabled enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute daily production control activities including wafer lot starts, lot monitoring, FOUP management, offload operations, and WIP management in alignment with Fab priorities and output commitments.
  • Utilize data analytics and AI-enabled tools to monitor production flow, identify bottlenecks, prioritize actions, and support timely decision making on material movement and dispatch execution.
  • Support offload send/receive operations, ensuring accurate documentation, system transactions, and compliance with established manufacturing procedures.
  • Monitor production performance indicators including WIP levels, aging risks, cycle time impacts, carrier utilization, and capacity constraints; proactively identify abnormalities and elevate potential risks to Production Control Engineers and Manufacturing teams.
  • Leverage AI-assisted insights and digital dashboards to analyze production trends, detect operational exceptions, and recommend actions to improve workflow efficiency and manufacturing performance.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Warehouse, Equipment Engineering, Automation, and other cross-functional teams to resolve material flow issues including carrier shortages, routing discrepancies, system mismatches, and production disruptions.
  • Perform accurate transaction processing within MES, SAP, and other manufacturing systems to maintain inventory accuracy, recipe compliance, and data integrity.
  • Support first-level troubleshooting of dispatch, logistics, automation, or system-related issues by using available diagnostic tools, AI-assisted knowledge resources, and standard troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools to generate shift summaries, handover reports, operational updates, and issue documentation to improve communication quality and reduce manual administrative effort.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process standardization, workflow automation, and effective adoption of AI and digital manufacturing solutions.
  • Maintain high standards of operational discipline, data accuracy, quality, safety, and compliance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Engineering or Science is required, or relevant hands‑on experience in semiconductor manufacturing and fab operations.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor fab environment (Manufacturing, Operations, Warehouse, or related functions) is preferred.
  • Able to work non‑standard working hours, including compressed schedules and 12‑hour night shifts, as required by manufacturing operations.
  • Able to work in a cleanroom for most of the working time, including working fully smocked in accordance with cleanroom and safety requirements.
  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.
