Qualifications

• A degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architecture or building-related discipline.
• At least 3–4 years of experience in building design or construction supervision.
• Expertise in a technical area under the Approved Document will be an advantage.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving building plan submissions for safety, sustainability and accessibility.
• Developing strategies, policies and processes for a robust, future-ready building control framework.
• Studying data and industry trends to support evidence-based policy decisions.
• Managing complex feedback cases and investigations under the Building Control Act and Regulations, with enforcement when needed.
• Collaborating with partner agencies to foster a pro-business environment for construction productivity.

[What you will be working on]

You will play a key role in administering and shaping building regulations and policies. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and approving building plan submissions, using your technical knowledge to evaluate designs for safety, environmental sustainability, and barrier-free accessibility.
• Developing strategies, policies, and processes to ensure Singapore's building control framework remains robust and future-ready.
• Studying data and industry trends to support evidence-based policy decisions that shape how Singapore builds.
• Managing complex feedback cases and conducting investigations into potential violations of the Building Control Act and Regulations, taking appropriate enforcement action where needed.
• Working closely with partner agencies to create a pro-business environment that supports a thriving construction industry while ensuring construction productivity.

[What we are looking for]
