Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer in Singapore to lead design and execution of civil projects, including land reclamation and coastal infrastructure. You will develop investigation programs, coordinate with clients and regulators, and review designs and drawings to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires a track record of delivering large-scale projects, proficiency with PLAXIS, GeoStudio, AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and leadership to mentor a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• PE license or equivalent certification highly desirable.
• 7–10 years of geotechnical experience focused on design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design and execution of civil projects including land reclamation and coastal works.
• Develop and review geotechnical investigation programs and site characterization.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and regulators to align project goals.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.

• Oversee construction activities ensuring design adherence and quality standards.
• Evaluate environmental impact and integrate sustainable practices into designs.

Job Description

• Lead the geotechnical design and execution of civil engineering projects, including land reclamation, coastal engineering, shoreline protection, seawalls and related infrastructure.
• Develop and review geotechnical investigation programs, site characterization, and laboratory testing
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to align project goals.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with local and international engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, technicians, and other team members.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits.
• Identify and resolve construction issues promptly.
• Integrate sustainable practices and innovative solutions into project designs.
• Evaluate the environmental impact of projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, and progress reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on design and project management.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale reclamation, or coastal infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of ground improvement methods, construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
