Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced GIS Software Developer to design, develop and maintain GIS applications for diverse clients within the engineering and construction sectors.

You will collaborate across engineering, design, and construction teams to deliver efficient, scalable GIS solutions and support business growth through innovative software development and well-documented tools.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geo-Informatics, Computer Science, Land Survey or Engineering related fields.
• Fluent in applying SQL statements for data manipulations.
• Experience with FME is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to open-source GIS solutions and datasets is a plus.
• Knowledge or experience in photogrammetry and point cloud data processing is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Engineering or CAD/BIM software is beneficial.
• Experience in mobile application development is an advantage.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude, self-motivation, and eagerness to learn.

Job Description

Our Digital Solutions team has an opportunity for experienced Software Developers with Geographical Information System (GIS) experience to grow their career in a global organisation. As part of this role you will design, develop and maintain a variety of GIS applications for a range of clients. You will work with a diverse range of groups across the engineering, design and construction industry, enabling you to build your career.

With guidance and supervision from the senior staff, you will:

• Develop GIS-based software tools, particularly to solve AEC industry related problems
• Ensure the developed applications perform efficiently and are easily maintained
• Perform system analysis and design
• Capable to communicate effectively to capture users’ requirements
• Prepare system manuals and related documentations
• Provide end-user technical support on programming related activities
• Website development and contents management
