Job summary

Sephora SEA is seeking an entry-level Data Excellence Executive to build reliable data models and dashboards, supporting business decisions. You will work with senior analysts and data engineering partners to grow technical skills and practical understanding of how data drives strategy.

You will shine by developing scalable data solutions, validating dashboards, and collaborating across teams to deliver insights that empower decisions and improve data quality.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts, gained through coursework, internships, or projects.
  • Exposure to data transformation or modelling tools such as DBT.
  • Exposure to BI or data visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Domo.
  • Strong logical thinking, attention to detail, and interest in reliable data solutions.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and collaborate while owning deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, document, and maintain SQL data models using DBT to support reporting and analytics.
  • Transform raw data into structured, reusable datasets under guidance from senior team members.
  • Follow development standards, including version control, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and implement maintainable solutions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau, or Domo.
  • Validate data and perform UAT to ensure dashboards are accurate and fit for purpose.
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business users to clarify requirements.

Sephora SEA is experiencing rapid growth in the region with new store openings and business channels (i.e., Click and collect and marketplace).

Role

The Data Excellence team is looking for an Executive to help build reliable, scalable data solutions for the organization. This is an entry-level role suited to a fresh graduate or an early-career candidate who enjoys working with data and technology. You will focus primarily on developing data models, dashboards, and reports, while learning how Sephora data supports business decision-making. You will work closely with senior analysts and data engineering partners, receiving guidance as you build your technical skills and understanding of the business.

Data Modelling and Development

  • Developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining SQL data models using DBT to support reporting, dashboarding and analytics use cases
  • Transforming raw data into well-structured, reusable, and business-friendly datasets under the guidance of senior team members
  • Following established development standards, including version control, code review, testing, documentation, and deployment processes
  • Investigating data issues, identifying root causes, and supporting the implementation of reliable and maintainable solutions

Dashboard and BI Development

  • Building and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly dashboards and reports in enterprise BI platforms such as Domo and Power BI
  • Supporting key stakeholders in the organization and translating business questions and requirements into clear and accurate enterprise dashboards and insights
  • Translating clearly defined reporting requirements and designs into working dashboards, visualizations, and self-service data products
  • Performing data validation and UAT to ensure dashboards and reports are accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose
  • Supporting improvements to dashboard performance, navigation, usability, and visual consistency

Data Quality and Governance

  • Monitoring data quality and helping maintain trusted definitions, metadata, technical documentation, and data lineage
  • Maintaining clear documentation for data models, dashboards, calculations, and recurring operational processes
  • Collaborating with senior analysts, data engineers, and business users to clarify requirements and resolve technical questions
