Job summary

EAST EMPLOYMENT PTE. LTD. in Bedok, Singapore is seeking a Cuisine Chef to drive the business by delivering exceptional dishes and creations to restaurants, outlets, business clients and events while supporting the Central Kitchen operations.

The role requires planning menus, leading kitchen staff, hiring and training, stocktaking, and ensuring safety standards. You will work 6am to 5pm and be on-call for shifts, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Qualification from a cuisine school.
• 1+ years of experience in a similar position.
• In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
• Passion for creating high-quality dishes that delight customers.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
• Creative and innovative thinking.
• Strict adherence to cleanliness, health, and safety standards.
• Experience managing inventories and stocktaking.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time.
• Planning the menu and designing the plating presentation for each dish.
• Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
• Hiring and training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
• Stocktaking ingredients and equipment, and placing orders as needed.
• Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
• Creating new recipes to regularly update the menu.
• Keeping track of new trends in the industry.
• Incorporating feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues.
• Able to work in hot, oily and under pressure and have no qualms assuming additional responsibilities.
• Preparing kitchen with required ingredients and equipment and keeping kitchen and organized.
• Lead the team assistant to complete daily order work.
