Job summary

Woh Hup (Private) Limited is seeking an Environmental Control Officer to identify environmental health irregularities and recommend measures to maintain good environmental health on site.

The role requires a Technical Diploma, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and NEA registration. You will inspect sites, monitor compliance, coordinate with authorities, and organize training to promote health standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Technical Diploma from a recognized polytechnic.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, environmental health or related.
• Registered Environmental Control Officer with National Environment Agency.
• Knowledge in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan (EMMP).
• Earth Control Measures Officer course.

Responsibilities

• Establish the objectives and process necessary to deliver results in accordance with the organization’s environmental policy.
• Check, monitor and measure processes against environmental policy, objectives, targets, legal and other requirements and reports the results.
• Take actions to continually improve performance of the environmental management system.
• Inspect the construction site to ensure all facilities and equipment relevant to the maintenance of environmental health are in proper working condition and do not pose any environmental health hazard.
• Highlight environmental health irregularities and recommend rectification measures to Site Management.
• Assist authorities to investigate any outbreaks of infectious, vector borne or food borne diseases at site.
• Investigate public complaints on environmental issues.
• Organise campaigns, training courses and other promotional activities to sustain workers’ environmental health standards at site.
