Job summary

Selby Jennings partners with a Singapore-based energy trading house to expand its trading team. The role focuses on fuel oil cargo and refined products trading, offering exposure to physical and derivatives markets.

You will support profitable third-party trading, identify arbitrage opportunities, build relationships with refiners and end-users, and execute trades within risk limits. 3–5 years oil trading experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in oil, refined products, or energy trading
• Experience trading physical products (fuel oil, gasoline, naphtha, distillates, LPG, biofuels, crude)
• Proven ability to contribute to profitability and growth
• Strong understanding of physical and/or derivatives markets
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Commercially driven, entrepreneurial mindset and ownership
• Ambition to advance to larger risk-taking and portfolio management

Responsibilities

• Support and grow profitable third-party trading across physical and paper energy markets.
• Identify arbitrage and market opportunities regionally and internationally.
• Develop relationships with refiners, suppliers, traders, brokers and end-users.
• Execute trades within approved risk limits and portfolio mandates.
• Monitor market developments, pricing dynamics and opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations, risk and shipping teams to ensure trade execution.
• Contribute commercial ideas to grow the trading business.
