About us
At Sierra, we're building a platform to enable every company in the world to build better, more human customer experiences with AI. We partner with industry leaders such as SoftBank, Uber, Rivian, CLEAR, and Sutter Health. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and Family. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google's AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
What you’ll do
- Drive the technical pre-sales process across multiple concurrent enterprise opportunities, setting standards for use case scoping and solution design quality.
- Lead development of high-impact product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical prototypes across multiple accounts, establishing reusable assets and best practices for the team.
- Drive complex technical and architecture reviews across multiple enterprise accounts, resolving high-stakes integration, security, and deployment questions.
- Drive value-based technical selling across multiple accounts, shaping how customer business problems are translated into solutions and presented to senior executives.
- Drive alignment between sales, product, and engineering across multiple accounts, championing customer requirements and shaping product prioritization.
- Oversee technical execution across multiple concurrent, high-complexity sales cycles and provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
What you’ll bring
- 6 years of experience working with enterprise software technologies, including SaaS applications, CRM or customer service platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk), APIs and system integrations, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- 6 years of experience developing and delivering software product demonstrations, proofs of concept, or technical prototypes, including demo environment configuration and technical evaluation cycles.
- 6 years of experience designing solution or system architectures, including integration design, data flows, API-based connectivity, or enterprise deployment requirements such as SSO/identity management and security or compliance review.
- 3 years of experience using programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL to build prototypes, integrations, or data analyses.
- 3 years of experience developing business cases, ROI or cost-benefit analyses, or quantified value assessments for enterprise technology purchases.
- 3 years of experience preparing technical documentation, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, integration specifications, or RFP/RFI and security questionnaire responses.
- Past experience in demo building, and presenting, and working with customers or clients in the GTM function.
- Experience in relationship-building with potential customers, including executives and technical leaders.
- Experience in leading the sales process with Enterprise customers.
- Ability to connect a prospect's specific business problems and Sierra's solutions and explain them to both a technical and non-technical audience
- Ability to leverage AI tools efficiently as a regular part of your technical sales motion - discovery prep, solution design, demo and prototype building, technical proposals. With that, you know where these tools can help and where human judgment still is required. Importantly, you own the accuracy of anything you put in front of a customer, whether or not AI helped you build it. This ownership looks like us not saying "[AI tool of choice] built this", but "I built this with [AI tool of choice]."
- Bachelor's Degree or above; bonus if in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Even better...
Experience translating code, technical logic and user requirements to product and engineering requirements.
