The successful candidate is to maintain and repair all mechanical and rotating equipment. Keep all equipment in the best operating condition and minimizing equipment breakdown and optimizing cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Engineering: Directs and coordinates fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines and systems.
- Ensures that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process.
- Oversees installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralised heat, gas, water and steam systems.
- Evaluates mechanical products to determine their cost‑effectiveness and efficiency.
- May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
- To lead / support implementation for plant modifications and plant improvement projects.
- To lead / support plant troubleshooting and equipment failure root cause analysis.
- To co‑ordinate / implement maintenance activities. This will include multi‑disciplinary activities with other maintenance teams as well as external vendors. Includes work planning for routine, non routine work, turnaround and shutdowns.
- To issue / receive Work Permit for maintenance and project activities includes creating and reviewing of Risk Assessments.
- To provide / support engineering solutions for problems related to equipment reliability.
- To maintain / support inspection readiness of the systems to ensure audit compliance with regulatory, safety and engineering standards.
- To use the SAP PM module for maintenance records, maintenance history records and information search.
- To develop / support standard work for technicians and perform Gemba and problem solving to ensure adherence and improvement to the technician standard work.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- ITC/ITE/NTC 2 or 3 on mechanical, with minimum 1 years working experience in pharmaceutical, petrochemical, chemical or relevant process industry.
- Technician Diploma from Polytechnic will be an advantage.
- Sound engineering knowledge of Mechanical equipment (Pumps, Mechanical Seal).
- Must be able to work on shifts.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of local codes of practice.
- Effective team player, customer focus, self‑driven and the ability to create business solutions.
- Must be willing to provide support after office hours when required.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of cGMP and facility validation for the pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage
