Job summary

Stripe in Singapore is seeking an Engineering Manager for Payments Engineering to lead the team responsible for card payments across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. You’ll shape strategy with Stripe leaders and mentor engineers to grow their careers while delivering reliable, scalable payment experiences.

You’ll recruit exceptional engineers, drive technical productivity and collaboration, and contribute to global engineering initiatives as part of the management team.

About the team

The Payments Engineering team powers the processing of hundreds of billions of dollars in card payments annually, enabling users to accept card payments across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. As the Engineering Manager for the team, you’ll be responsible for expanding the reach of Stripe’s global payments network and delivering a best-in-class card payments experience in these regions.

In this role, you’ll make some of the most significant strategic, product, and technical decisions for card payments at Stripe. The systems this team builds enable our users to integrate with Stripe once, accept payments across an ever-expanding set of card networks, and grow their businesses globally.

Minimum requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an engineering management role.
• 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
• A demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers.
• The ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-impact, and ambiguous environments.
• A commitment to high operational rigor when working with production systems.
• Experience building extensible software solutions that scale with business growth.
• The ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional, and cross-time-zone environment while fostering a positive team culture.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with payments-related products.
• Experience working in global and cross-regional environments.
• Experience using AI tools to improve team execution, quality, and overall effectiveness.
