Job summary

SATS Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a skilled Training Manager to design and deliver technical maintenance training for GSEs and airport equipment.

You will lead a training office, coordinate courses, assess learner progress and collaborate with partners across the aviation service network. The role requires an engineering background with hands-on training management experience, strong coaching and mentoring abilities, and a willingness to obtain licenses for SATS operations.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with at least 3 years in relevant training management.
• Experience in maintenance engineering, troubleshooting, coaching and OJT supervision.
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, coaching, instructional, analytical and writing skills.
• Relevant learning delivery/ design/ assessment certifications advantageous.
• State Class 3 license; willing to attain SATS Class 4/5 driving license and equipment qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and instruct technical maintenance training for classroom training and OJT leading to qualifications for maintenance of GSEs and airport vehicles.
• Manage maintenance training office in terms of course delivery, learning and development solutions, curriculum reviews and trainer deployment.
• Identify competency gaps and translate them into training and structured OJT plans.
• Oversee trainees' progression through classroom and OJT with supervision and coaching.
• Study and introduce learning technologies and systems including e-learning and LMS.
• Develop partnerships with industry parties to support maintenance training outcomes as directed.
• Ensure serviceability of assigned training equipment and premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and instruct technical maintenance training (knowledge, skills) for classroom training and OJT leading to qualifications for maintenance of GSEs, airport specialty vehicles.
• Manage maintenance training office in terms of training courses delivery, learning and development solutions, curriculum reviews for effectiveness, as well as trainers' development and deployment
• Identify competency gaps through workshop engagement and trainee assessments, and translate these into relevant technical training and structured OJT plans.
• Own trainees' progression through classroom training and OJT, working with workshop supervisors and line trainers to ensure relevant task exposure, timely coaching and demonstrated competence.
• Study and introduce appropriate learning technologies and systems, including e-learning as well as learning management systems.
• Develop partnerships with industry parties/stakeholders like GSE OEMs, MRO companies, training institutes and/or government agencies to support maintenance training outcomes for company as directed
• Responsible for the serviceability of assigned training equipment and premises

Key Requirements

• Relevant Engineering Degree with at least 3 years of working experience in relevant technical training management role. Practical experience in maintenance engineering, troubleshooting, coaching and OJT supervision would be added advantage. Other qualifications (e.g. Diploma) in Engineering may also be considered
• Team-player, who is also able to work independently with excellent problem solving, interpersonal, coaching, instructional, analytical and writing skills
• Expertise in learning pedagogy, learning needs analysis and technical training delivery
• Relevant learning delivery, design, assessment certifications advantageous.
• State Class 3 license. Prepared to attain SATS Class 4/5 driving license, Airfield Driving Permit, equipment qualifications to operate SATS GSE/Vehicles.
