Job summary

GovTech is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Singpass and Data Platform teams, driving scalable, secure, and reliable digital identity and data capabilities for Singapore. You will guide architecture, partner with Product and UX, and nurture a high-performing engineering culture.

You will balance delivery with long-term sustainability, oversee performance and quality, and influence across engineering and cross-functional teams to achieve impactful public-sector outcomes.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures and scalable systems.
• Ability to lead, coach, and mentor engineers across disciplines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proven track record delivering reliable, secure software at scale.
• Experience partnering with product, design, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture reviews to ensure scalable, secure solutions.
• Set technical direction in collaboration with Product, Design and stakeholders.
• Balance feature delivery with sustainability, maintainability, and risk management.
• Drive delivery excellence and system reliability using operational metrics and DataOps signals.
• Foster a high-performing, inclusive engineering culture with coaching and growth planning.
