We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, development and delivery of mechanical products and engineering solutions.
The successful candidate will provide both technical and people leadership, ensuring engineering designs meet quality and manufacturability requirements, product development projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, and the engineering team continues to build strong technical capabilities.
This role requires a hands-on engineering leader who can work effectively across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers and customers.
Lead and oversee mechanical design and product development activities from concept through design validation and production readiness.
Review engineering designs and ensure they meet technical, performance, safety, quality, cost and manufacturability requirements.
Drive design quality and engineering discipline to achieve ≥95% of designs after PGA with no major rework.
Provide technical guidance and support in resolving complex mechanical design and engineering issues.
Establish and continuously improve engineering design standards, processes and best practices.
Lead engineering projects from concept and development through testing, qualification and production implementation.
Develop and manage project schedules, engineering resources, technical deliverables and project risks.
Drive ≥90% on-time project completion within approved budgets.
Identify potential technical and project risks early and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
Ensure proper engineering documentation, design reviews, testing and project handover are completed.
Work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and other internal teams to resolve technical and production-related issues.
Provide engineering support within 48 hours of issue escalation.
Support technical discussions and engagements with customers and suppliers.
Work with suppliers on technical requirements, component selection, manufacturability and engineering improvements.
Communicate technical requirements, project risks and engineering recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Lead, mentor and develop engineers to strengthen the overall technical capabilities of the Engineering team.
Provide coaching, technical guidance and regular feedback to team members.
Identify competency and skills gaps and establish appropriate development or training plans.
Promote knowledge sharing, engineering best practices and continuous improvement within the team.
Build a strong engineering culture focused on quality, accountability, collaboration and technical excellence.
Support manpower and resource planning to ensure sufficient engineering capability for current and future projects.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Preferably at least 5 years of relevant engineering experience, with experience leading engineers or technical teams.
Strong experience in mechanical design, product development and engineering project management.
Good understanding of design-for-manufacturing, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, material selection and manufacturing processes.
Experience taking products or engineering solutions from concept/design through testing and production implementation.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, schedules and resources.
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Able to work effectively with customers, suppliers, Production, Quality and other cross-functional teams.
Good communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineers and build engineering competencies within a team.
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will have an advantage:
System Integration, Defense Sector, Camera Sensor (LiDAR)
Mechanical systems, tooling, jigs, fixtures or equipment development.
Product qualification, validation and transition from development to production.
Supplier technical management and customer-facing engineering activities.
Engineering change management and continuous product improvement.
We are looking for someone who is not only able to manage an Engineering team, but who is also comfortable being technically involved in product development and problem-solving.
