Job summary

SMRT Corporation Ltd is seeking a capable professional to supervise a team of engineers and technicians for emergency track incident response. The role involves permanent night shifts and coordination with maintenance and control operations across the railway network.

The candidate should bring an engineering diploma and 5–8 years of relevant railway experience, with strong supervisory, communication, and Office software skills. This is a full-time on-site position based in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in railway environments.
• Ability to work permanent night shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations to management regarding track failures and recovery.
• Manage and deploy manpower for the emergency team.
• Oversee safety, welfare, attendance and disciplinary matters for the team.
• Prepare weekly activation and monthly man-hour reports.
• Plan calibration and inspection for tools and equipment.
• Plan and execute noise measurements island-wide.
• Audit staff per safety observation data sheets.
• Conduct yearly staff performance appraisals.
• Oversee daily maintenance control and coordinate recovery operations.
• Provide fault recovery status updates to management.
• Develop fault reporting processes between maintenance ops and units.
• Plan maintenance coordination cell manning schedules.
• Collaborate with SMRT Train/Control ops on crisis plans.

Job Purpose

To assist the Manager to supervise a team of Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers to respond, investigate and manage emergency track incidents. The position would require the incumbent to work permanent night shift.

Responsibilities

Maintenance

1. Provide recommendations to the management regarding track failure and recovery.
2. Manage and deploy manpower for the emergency team.
3. Responsible for team’s safety, welfare, attendance and disciplinary matters.
4. Prepare weekly activation report and monthly report on man-hours.
5. Plan and manage the calibration and inspection for tools and equipment.
6. Plan and execute monthly and ad-hoc noise measurements island-wide.
7. Provide recommendations to the management regarding track failure and recovery.
8. Audit staff in accordance to Based Safety Observation Data Sheet (BBS).
9. Conduct and assess yearly staff performance appraisal.

Operations Control

1. Oversee daily maintenance control, coordinate recovery operations, and support SMRT Control Ops in crisis/contingency management.
2. Provide management with fault recovery status updates
3. Provide management with fault recovery status updates
4. Develop and refine fault reporting processes to improve linkages between the maintenance operations centre and maintenance units.
5. Plan maintenance coordination cell manning schedule.
6. Work with SMRT Train/Control operations centre to develop and refine crisis and contingency plans.

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
• Preferably with at least 5-8 years of relevant experience preferably in the railway environment.
• Ability to work permanent night shift.

Skills

• Preferably have a Class 3 driving licence.
• Possess supervisory skills with the ability to work independently.
• Clear and effective in verbal communication and instruction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Words and Excel.
