Job summary

SMRT Corporation Ltd is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Manager to supervise a team of Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers to respond, investigate and manage emergency track incidents. The position requires permanent night shifts.

You will oversee maintenance and operations control, coordinate recovery operations, and develop fault reporting processes to improve linkages between control centres and maintenance units. The role involves planning rosters, safety, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in railway environment.
  • Ability to work permanent night shift.

  • Provide recommendations to the management regarding track failure and recovery.
  • Manage and deploy manpower for the emergency team.
  • Responsible for team’s safety, welfare, attendance and disciplinary matters.
  • Prepare weekly activation report and monthly report on man-hours.
  • Plan and manage the calibration and inspection for tools and equipment.
  • Plan and execute monthly and ad-hoc noise measurements island-wide.
  • Audit staff in accordance to Based Safety Observation Data Sheet (BBS).
  • Conduct and assess yearly staff performance appraisal.
  • Oversee daily maintenance control, coordinate recovery operations, and support SMRT Control Ops in crisis/contingency management.
  • Provide management with fault recovery status updates.
  • Develop and refine fault reporting processes to improve linkages between the maintenance operations centre and maintenance units.
  • Plan maintenance coordination cell manning schedule.
  • Work with SMRT Train/Control operations centre to develop and refine crisis and contingency plans.

Skills
  • Preferably have a Class 3 driving licence.
  • Possess supervisory skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Clear and effective in verbal communication and instruction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Words and Excel.
