Job summary

SMRT Corporation, Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Engineer, CS&M to plan and supervise PM and CM on trains/equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, quality, and cost-effective operations in the CS&M Shop. You will lead a team of Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.

The role requires coordinating with Section Manager and driving productivity improvements, safety compliance, budgeting input, and process improvements within a dynamic rail maintenance environment.

Qualifications

• Polytechnic diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology/Engineering.
• Preferably 5 years' relevant experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise work carried out by the team.
• Assist SM in meeting the key performance indicators set by Division.
• Assist SM in planning of work duties.
• Assist SM in overseeing the dissemination of instructions and procedures issued to team members.
• Assist SM in conducting engineering analysis and investigations on incidents/accidents.
• Assist SM in the preparation of Quality Procedures / Risk Assessment / Work Instructions / Work Records.
• Assist SM in the periodic review of Quality Procedures / Risk Assessment / Work Instructions / Work Records.
• Assist SM with inputs for the budgeting and expenses of cost centre that belongs to the Section.
• Assist SM with the management of Tools, Calibration, Support Equipment and Spares procurement.
• Assist SM with the administrative duties for staff within the team.
• Responsible for the safety of staff under his charge, conducting toolbox briefing/audits, dissemination of safety and admin messages and staff work in accordance to safety procedures.
• Exercise safety always; in accordance to established Safety procedures. Responsible for the safety of self and all co-workers, inclusive of contractors.
• Execute productivity improvement initiatives, efficiency drives and innovations for his team and the Branch through active interaction with staff and external partners
• Able to participate and complete the technical Skills training provided by SMRT and achieve the necessary qualification to perform maintenance work on SMRT Component Service Centre.
• Responsible in ensuring workplace order and hygiene.
• Able to work on a shift roster system (as required) in accordance with the MOM guidelines and the Collective Agreement.
• Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned: e.g. attend to emergency mainline incident, as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications include:

• Polytechnic diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Work Experience:

• Preferably 5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment.
