Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Engineering Lead to oversee the engineering team responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing support of wire harness and cable assembly products. The successful candidate will lead engineering projects, ensuring products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and production timelines.

This role requires strong technical knowledge in wire harness manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with customers, production, quality, and purchasing teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of wire harness and cable assembly projects.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to ensure product feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from quotation, prototype development, and sample validation through to mass production.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOM), work instructions, process flow charts, and engineering change documentation.
  • Provide technical support to production, quality, purchasing, and sales departments to resolve engineering‑related issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for product and process issues.
  • Coordinate engineering change requests and ensure timely implementation.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical matters, product development, and design changes.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company quality management systems.
  • Monitor project schedules and engineering deliverables to ensure on‑time completion.
  • Mentor and develop engineering team members through coaching, training, and performance management.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the wire harness, cable assembly, or electrical manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes, electrical schematics, connectors, terminals, and cable assembly techniques.
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO), and manufacturing process development.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems; experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, EPLAN, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
