Job summary

Percept Solutions in Singapore seeks a hands-on Engineering Lab Support professional to perform testing, set up lab stands, and assist automation activities. You will use Python for test execution, document results, and help maintain lab equipment and calibration records.

The role involves collaboration with engineering, quality, production and IT teams, plus basic PLC and networking tasks. Diploma holders with lab experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a technical discipline related to engineering testing.
• Experience in engineering testing, lab ops, test eng support preferred.
• Hands-on SAP, test automation and Python knowledge appreciated.
• Experience managing labs, test stands, or instrumentation beneficial.
• Basic PLC knowledge and industrial automation helpful.
• Good documentation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering testing and execute test procedures per requirements.
• Set up and maintain test stands, benches, lab equipment and tools.
• Support daily lab operations and keep equipment ready for use.
• Execute and assist automated testing using relevant tools/scripts.
• Use Python for test execution, scripting, automation and troubleshooting.
• Record test results, defects, observations and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot test gear, environments and basic system issues.
• Support engineers in validation, verification and testing activities.
• Maintain lab equipment records and calibration/maintenance activities.
• Use SAP for engineering, equipment/material/testing processes.
• Assist with PLC and industrial automation activities.
• Help with IP networking and Windows/Linux server configuration as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, IT and other teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain proper lab housekeeping, safety, documentation and equipment control.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering testing and execute test procedures according to defined requirements.
• Set up, operate, and maintain engineering test stands, test benches, laboratory equipment, and testing tools.
• Support day-to-day engineering laboratory operations and ensure test equipment is properly maintained and available for use.
• Execute and support automated testing activities using relevant tools and scripts.
• Use Python primarily for test execution, basic scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.
• Record and document test results, defects, observations, and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot test equipment, test environments, and basic system-related issues.
• Support engineers in product validation, verification, testing, and other engineering activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment records and support equipment calibration, servicing, and maintenance activities.
• Use SAP for relevant engineering, equipment, material, or testing-related processes.
• Support basic PLC and industrial automation related activities.
• Assist with basic IP networking and Windows/Linux server configuration and troubleshooting where required.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, production, IT, and other technical teams to resolve testing and laboratory issues.
• Ensure proper laboratory housekeeping, safety, documentation, and equipment control.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant experience in engineering testing, laboratory operations, test engineering, validation, or engineering support is preferred.
• Hands-on experience or knowledge of SAP, test automation, and Python.
• Experience or knowledge in managing engineering laboratories, test stands, test benches, testing equipment, or instrumentation.
• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation.
• Comfortable with hands-on test execution, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and engineering support activities.
• Knowledge of IP networking and Windows/Linux server management will be an added advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Fresh Graduates:

• Polytechnic fresh graduates with relevant technical qualifications and a strong interest in engineering testing, automation, laboratory systems, Python, or PLC technologies may also be considered.
