This PDE Yield Enhancement (YE) Engineer within Package Development Engineering works on yield monitoring, excursion management, and stabilization during High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) New Product Introduction (NPI). The role ensures robust yield performance from first silicon through NPI ramp and early HVM, collaborating with Process Integration, MRDA, Process Engineering, Assembly/Test Manufacturing, Quality, and Process Control Systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Integrate AI‑assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, while exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI‑enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.
- Account for HBM NPI builds across Post Wafer Finishing (PWF), Assembly, and test, performing defect breakdown and Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) submissions to understand failure modes.
- Collaborate with Process Integration (PI) to identify defects originating from their area and brainstorm continuous‑improvement plans (CIP).
- Learn NPI processes, phase gates, and yield best practices, and assist in maintaining yield dashboards and trackers.
- Support PI/PE/RDA in transforming processing data to account for and breakdown yield losses.
- Analyze and report yield deviation issues, triggering action from PI, Process Engineering (PE) or RDA.
- Support block run and partial conversion build yield analysis to detect early impacts on yield.
- Work with Process Control Systems (PCS) to identify Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) charts for integration into the Yield Loss Ratio (YLR) dashboard for shift‑left monitoring.
- Brainstorm with staff from other departments for improvement opportunities and propose them to PI.
