Job summary

PUB, The National Water Agency is seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer (Operations) for the Tuas South Desalination Plant. The role focuses on ensuring the plant operates at design capacity, adhering to stringent water-quality guidelines, and coordinating shift operators to monitor the process.

You will manage chemical usage, oversee contractual work, and prepare tender documents for upgrades, while coordinating interfacing projects and liaising with other PUB departments and government bodies

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering.
• Candidates with relevant experience are preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and driven.
• Work well independently and also a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in operating the Tuas South Desalination Plant to meet design capacity reliably and in compliance with water-quality guidelines.
• Coordinate deployment of shift operators to monitor the water treatment process.
• Monitor chemical usage and procurement of chemicals.
• Coordinate administrative and contractual work for the plant.
• Prepare estimates, specifications and tender documents for plant improvement works.
• Ensure smooth interfacing of upgrade projects.
• Liaise with PUB departments and government bodies on plant-related issues, including audits.

What the role is

As an Engineer / Senior Engineer (Operations) Tuas South Desalination Plant, your responsibilities would include :

What you will be working on

• Assisting the General Manager in managing the operation of the plant to ensure that the plant is able to operate at design capacity reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with all stringent water quality requirements set by WHO, USEPA and EPH guidelines
• Managing the deployment of shift operators to ensure that the water treatment process is monitored
• Monitoring chemical usage and purchase of chemicals
• Coordinating and executing the administrative and contractual work of the plant
• Preparing estimates, specifications and tender documents for plant improvement works
• Ensuring smooth interfacing of upgrading projects
• Liaising with other PUB departments or Government bodies on issues related to the plant, including any audit related work.
