Job summary

HTX in Singapore seeks engineers to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team advancing robotics, automation and unmanned systems for air, land and maritime domains.

You will work on end-to-end RAUS capabilities, liaise with stakeholders, prepare specs and tests, manage budgets and schedules, and help transition prototypes into operational systems. A degree in engineering and PMP-like experience are valued; flexible senior roles exist for 5+ years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required; electrical/electronics/mechanical/mechatronics backgrounds are preferred.
• Experience in unmanned systems or sensor systems and project management is desirable.
• PMP or equivalent certification would be an advantage.
• 5+ years of relevant experience may qualify for more senior roles.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers on unmanned systems across air, land or maritime domains.
• Participate in end-to-end RAUS capabilities development and delivery.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to manage budgets, requirements and schedules.
• Prepare technical specifications, system design documents, test plans and reports.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, milestones and expenditure.
• Identify project risks early and propose mitigations to minimize delays.
• Ensure proper integration and testing of hardware and software components.
• Maintain awareness of RAUS component technologies such as sensors, machine vision, localisation, mapping, navigation and comms.
• Assist in transitioning proven RAUS prototypes into operational systems.

We are looking for aspired candidates to be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team that look into the management, development and delivery of robotics, autonomation and unmanned systems in the air, land and maritime domains; to enhance the operational effectiveness of our Home Team.

What You Will Be Working On

• Working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers passionate in unmanned systems development in either air, land or maritime domains.
• Participate in the end-to-end Robotics, Automation and Unmanned Systems (RAUS) capabilities development and delivery.
• Liaise and work with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to deliver projects in the area of RAUS, ensuring that the budget, requirements and schedules are being adhered to.
• Prepare technical specifications, system design documents, test plans and test reports.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, highlighting project milestones, issues and expenditure.
• Identify potential project risks early and assess its implications to the organisation and project, and to recommend mitigating measures to manage the risks and minimise project delay.
• Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so that the system is delivered to contractual requirements.
• Keep abreast of current RAUS component technologies, which include sensor systems, machine vision, perception, localisation, mapping, navigation, autonomous behaviours and communication systems.
• Assist in realising the transition of proven RAUS prototypes into operational systems.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in technology management, preferably in development of unmanned systems or radio frequency/electro-optical sensor systems.
• Preferably with basic knowledge on cybersecurity governance and best practices, as well as communication/datalink implementation.
• Applicants with more than 5 years’ relevant experience will be considered for more senior positions.
• Has strong planning and project management skills. PMP or equivalent certification would be an advantage.
• A team player with good interpersonal relationship, organisational and system management skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; preferably a Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics / System Engineering / Communications Engineering / Computer Science.
• All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
