The National Environment Agency (NEA) in Singapore is seeking an Energy Efficiency Compliance Specialist to join the Carbon Mitigation Division, Industry Regulation 1. You will liaise with industrial facilities to ensure regulatory compliance and support energy efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities include leading field audits, reviewing requirements and guidelines, and designing studies to identify GHG reduction opportunities.
[What the role is] The Carbon Mitigation Division administers the Energy Conservation Act and the Carbon Pricing Act to mitigate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the industrial and household sectors. For this role, you will join NEA as a member of a team within the Industry Regulation 1 Department of the Carbon Mitigation Division, which administers regulatory requirements to promote energy efficiency and reduce GHG emissions in the industrial sector. Your work will involve liaising closely with industrial facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also review and develop requirements, standards and guidelines related to energy efficiency and carbon mitigation. The role will involve both desk-based work and on-site inspections of industrial facilities.
[What you will be working on] You will be responsible for: Leading field audits and conducting compliance checks to ensure that industrial facilities comply with regulatory requirements Analysing the energy performance of industrial facilities and engaging companies to improve their energy management practices Reviewing, developing, and implementing requirements, standards and guidelines related to energy efficiency and carbon mitigation for the industrial sector Designing, commissioning, and managing studies to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and GHG emissions reduction in the industrial sector
[What we are looking for] A degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred. Candidates with degrees in Environmental, Electrical and Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering will also be considered. Highly self-motivated, independent, and resourceful Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills At least 2 years of working experience in the energy efficiency field or in an industrial plant
