Job summary

ENGIE RCS PTE. LTD. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to manage the operation, maintenance, testing and inspection of fire protection systems in mission-critical data centre facilities in Singapore.

You will ensure reliability and regulatory compliance, support preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinate with vendors, and participate in commissioning and incident investigations, aiming for high system uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in fire protection systems, facilities management, mission-critical facilities, industrial plants or data centres.
• Knowledge of local codes, standards and regulatory requirements related to fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage operation, maintenance, testing and inspection of fire protection systems in data centre facilities.
• Ensure reliability and compliance to safeguard personnel, assets and business continuity.
• Support preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for wet-pipe, pre-action sprinklers, fire alarm and ASD.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and authorities on works, audits and upgrades.
• Maintain compliance with local codes and client requirements.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions for fire-related events.
• Participate in site operations, commissioning and emergency preparedness.
• Lead commissioning, RI inspection, integrated testing and cause-and-effect verification with contractors.

Job Description

• Manage the operation, maintenance, testing and inspection of fire protection systems within mission-critical data centre facilities.
• Ensure reliability, compliance and operational readiness of fire protection systems to safeguard personnel, assets and business continuity.
• Support preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance activities for wet-pipe sprinkler, pre-action sprinkler, fire alarm and aspirating smoke detection systems.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and authorities on fire protection works, audits, inspections and system upgrades.
• Maintain compliance with local regulatory requirements, industry standards and client requirements.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for fire-related system events.
• Participate in site operations, projects, commissioning activities and emergency response preparedness.
• Lead fire protection system commissioning, RI Inspection , integrated testing, cause-and-effect verification with contractors

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in fire protection systems, facilities management, mission-critical facilities, industrial plants or data centres.
• Experience in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of fire protection systems.
• Knowledge of local codes, standards and regulatory requirements related to fire protection systems is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Wet-Pipe and Pre-Action Sprinkler Systems.
• Working knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems, detection devices, notification systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP).
• Familiarity with Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) systems for critical environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, method statements and maintenance procedures.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Good troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage contractors and service providers safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and business continuity requirements within data centre environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management systems.
• Understanding of critical facility operations where system uptime and reliability are essential.
• Appreciation of fire safety risks and mitigation measures within data centre environments.
• Contribute to operational excellence, regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, safety and maintenance efficiency.
