Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units, is seeking an experienced engineer for the ELMT Asia Pacific team in Singapore.

The role supports engine centers and repair shops in overhaul and repair of commercial engines, including repair development, limits development, structural analysis, engine investigations, metrology, and project management, with deployment to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Production or equivalent)
• Min 6 years’ working experience in aerospace aftermarket and/or similar MRO businesses
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial gas turbine engines
• Good engineering aptitude and ability to learn independently
• Demonstrate communication skills including written and oral presentation proficiency
• Demonstrate business judgment, results driven, adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Establish that technical data requirements comply with airworthiness standards and ensure repairs/limits are substantiated
• Carry out repair design and structural analysis as needed for technical data needs
• Support customers in resolving field issues with timely hardware disposition to support shop turnaround time and costs
• Trend hardware distress to identify limits/repairs and input to spare provisioning
• Research operating environments and component interactions to develop strategies to return damaged parts to service
• Interface with OEM design teams to secure priorities and understand programmatic issues and conduct engine investigations
• Conduct repair process standard work reviews and undertake project work as required
• Lead and conduct technology work, research and projects in support of shops
• Develop understanding of technologies, engine systems, business needs and customers
• Foster an environment of technical ownership and rotation of responsibilities within ELMT Team
• Carry out continuous improvement initiatives for cost-efficient development and execution
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
• Occasional Global Travel may be required
