Job summary

The Energy Studies Institute (ESI) at the National University of Singapore conducts independent research to advance energy policy understanding. We seek researchers to join a multi-disciplinary team addressing energy issues relevant to Singapore and the region.

The role involves desktop reviews, life cycle assessment of energy technologies, techno-economic analysis, stakeholder engagement, and policy reporting. Seminars and conferences will be organised by the team.

Qualifications

PhD in engineering, energy systems modelling, sustainability or related discipline.
Strong interest in energy and environmental issues including renewables, decarbonisation and energy security.
Experience in Life Cycle Assessment highly preferred.
Experience in techno-economic analysis and energy systems modelling is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Conduct technical and policy reviews of the global energy landscape through desktop research.
Assess carbon footprint and environmental impacts of fuels, renewables, and energy supply chains using qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Engage with stakeholders to discuss findings and implications.
Produce policy reports, documentation, and publish articles in reputable journals.
Organise seminars, workshops, and conferences as assigned by the Head of Division or PI.
