Job summary

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) seeks an Energy Communications Officer to articulate MTI’s policies and developments to external stakeholders, with a focus on low‑carbon energy and nuclear energy in Singapore.

You will develop and implement integrated communications strategies, lead media outreach, plan public relations activities and partnerships, and provide strategic counsel to profile MTI’s work for a vibrant economy.

Minimum 3–5 years in media relations or journalism is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of related work experience in media relations and/or journalism.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sound communications strategies.
• Strong writing and editorial judgment.
• Good project management and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in public sector policy matters and economy-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communication strategies and create content that supports MTI announcements and initiatives.
• Design messaging to achieve impactful and effective communication.
• Proactively develop media outreach and communication strategies to profile MTI’s work.
• Collaborate with external partners and agencies on stakeholder outreach and awareness building.
