Bright Point Capital Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Energy Analyst to perform fundamental and quantitative analysis across the energy value chain, including crude oil, natural gas, LNG, power, and renewables.

You will monitor market dynamics, geopolitical events, weather trends, and regulatory changes to inform trading and investment decisions. The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Excel, Python, and SQL.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Energy Studies, or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant energy markets, commodities, utilities, trading, research, or related analytical functions.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy value chain and macro factors affecting energy markets.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and data-driven analytical workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental and quantitative analysis across energy value chain, including crude oil, refined products, natural gas, LNG, power, and renewables.
  • Monitor market developments, supply-demand dynamics, geopolitical events, weather trends, freight movements, and regulatory changes.
  • Utilize AI tools and data analytics to enhance market research, automate workflows, and generate actionable insights.
  • Build datasets, dashboards, models, and analytical reports to support trading, investment, and risk decisions.
  • Perform market intelligence gathering from structured and unstructured data sources, including news, filings, satellite/weather data, and alternative datasets.
  • Analyse pricing curves, inventories, refinery operations, generation trends, flows, and other key market indicators across the barrel and broader energy complex.
  • Collaborate with trading, quantitative, risk, and technology teams to develop and improve analytical frameworks and strategies.
  • Support the development of forecasting models, scenario analysis, and strategy evaluation for energy-related opportunities.
  • Prepare concise reports and presentations summarizing market views, risks, and opportunities.

About the role

  • Utilize AI tools and data analytics techniques to enhance market research, automate workflows, and generate actionable insights

  • Build and maintain datasets, dashboards, models, and analytical reports to support trading, investment, and risk decisions

  • Perform market intelligence gathering from structured and unstructured data sources, including news, filings, satellite/weather data, and alternative datasets

About you


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Energy Studies, or related disciplines

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in energy markets, commodities, utilities, trading, research, or related analytical functions

  • Strong domain knowledge across the energy value chain, including crude oil, refined products, natural gas, LNG, power, or renewable energy markets

  • Understanding of supply-demand fundamentals, pricing drivers, market structure, and macroeconomic or geopolitical factors affecting energy markets

  • Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, or data-driven analytical workflows is preferred

  • Proficiency in Excel, Python, SQL, or data visualization tools is advantageous

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with attention to detail and commercial awareness
