A*STAR Research Entities seeks an Embodied AI Scientist to advance fundamental and applied research in humanoid robotics, focusing on actuator-centric embodied intelligence and learning-enabled control tightly integrated with physical dynamics, sensing, and actuation.

You will collaborate with robotics, control, AI and mechatronics researchers to develop novel control frameworks, evaluate them on actuation testbeds and full-body robotic platforms, and publish results.

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, Control or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3–5 years of relevant research experience is preferred.
• All candidates are welcome to apply.
• Experience with humanoid robotics systems is valued.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct research on embodied AI methods for humanoid robots focusing on joint-level actuation and energy-efficient motion.
• Develop learning-based and model-based control strategies considering actuator dynamics and physical constraints.
• Integrate multi-modal sensing includes closed-loop control of position, force/torque, tactile and visual feedback.
• Adapt controller tuning through system identification, domain adaptation and adaptive control methods.
• Investigate safe and constrained learning approaches for locomotion and manipulation under uncertainty.
• Integrate mechanical transmission, actuator and control system into humanoid robot to demonstrate embodied intelligence.
• Design and conduct experimental studies using humanoid joint modules and actuation testbeds.
