Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Singapore is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer II to design firmware and embedded software for modern adapters and IOs. You will work with a global team, participate in technical reviews, and help meet project milestones in a hybrid Singapore schedule.

The role requires a degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering (or MSc in CS), at least 1 year real-time embedded experience, and skills in C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, and low-level drivers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a Master's in Computer Science.
• Minimum 1 year of experience developing real-time embedded systems.
• Knowledge of C and C++ programming; experience with debugging and toolchains.

As an Embedded Software Engineer II, you will play an important role in the development, testing, and support of embedded software for next-generation Adapters and IOs. You will follow engineering best processes while you collaborate with a global team of professionals.

You will participate in technical reviews with your peers, aiming to resolve problems early in the development phase. We are looking for you to meet project milestones and deadlines, demonstrating Experience creating system documentation and reliability. Furthermore, you will excel in a diverse, multicultural team environment, contributing to collective success while also being can independent work.

You will report to Engineering Manager-Firmware follow a Hybrid working schedule in Singapore.

Your Responsibilities:

• You will Design firmware and embedded software for modern Adapters and IOs.
• Participate in technical reviews to identify issues early and propose solutions.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

Educational Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, with a focus on Embedded Software Engineering or Master's in Computer Science

Experience:

• Minimum 1 years of relevant experience developing real-time embedded systems.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of programming in C and C++
• Experience in industrial control systems is advantageous.
• Proficiency in programming 32-bit microcontrollers and in developing low-level device drivers.
• Have solid knowledge in RTOS and have experienced in developing embedded application using RTOS.
• Experience in Communication Protocols like TCI/IP, CIP
• Have knowledge in Secure Coding CERT C/C++ Standard will be an advantage.
• Have experience in Security Development processes will be an advantage.
• Have familiarity with unit testing methodologies
• Experience using different hardware-assisted debugging tools
• Familiarity with Agile processes, static analysis tools, and version control systems (e.g., Git)
