Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz in Singapore seeks a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with deep experience in embedded Linux platforms and real-time firmware development. You will bring up Linux, customize Yocto distributions, optimize U-Boot, and implement secure-boot features while developing kernel modules and drivers for multiple interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded Linux platforms and real-time microcontroller firmware development.
• Knowledge of Yocto-based distributions, including recipes, images, toolchains and production configuration.
• Experience with U-Boot and secure-boot features.
• Development of Linux kernel modules and device drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet.
• Real-time control firmware for power-conversion systems (AC/DC, DC/DC, inverter).
• Implementation of deterministic voltage/current control loops on TI C2000 devices using ePWM, ADC, CMPSS, DMA, interrupts, and CLA.

Responsibilities

• Bring up and maintain embedded Linux platforms.
• Customize Yocto-based Linux distributions, including recipes, images, toolchains, and production configuration.
• Configure and optimize U-Boot, boot-time behavior, firmware update mechanisms, and secure-boot features.
• Develop and debug Linux kernel modules and device drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, and other product-specific peripherals.
• Develop and maintain real-time control firmware for digital power-conversion systems (AC/DC, DC/DC, inverter).
• Implement deterministic voltage/current control loops on TI C2000 devices using ePWM, ADC, CMPSS, DMA, interrupts, and CLA where applicable.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during prototype bring-up, board validation, signal verification, and production testing.
• Diagnose system-level issues using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, trace tools, and software debuggers.
• Develop automated tests and document firmware architecture, interfaces, and bring-up procedures.
