Electronic Trading Support Engineer

The Electronic Trading Support Engineer joins our client’s high-performance trading environment, ensuring the seamless operation of their trading platform during APAC market hours. The role requires quick problem resolution and technical expertise to support live trading activities effectively.

Our client operates within a fast-paced, technology-driven financial sector, focusing on electronic trading and market infrastructure services.

Role Overview

The Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting live trading operations from Sunday to Thursday, responding to market alerts and outages, and acting as the first point of contact for issues related to the trading system. They will interface with exchanges and external parties to support order flow and ensure trading stability. Success in this role depends on managing incident responses promptly, understanding trading system infrastructure, and maintaining high levels of organisation and attention to detail.

Key Skills & Experience

• Support live trading during APAC market hours
• Respond to external market alerts and outages
• Interface with exchanges and external parties to support trading
• Handle order flow from trading desks
• Possess a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (CS, Engineering, Physics, Math, etc.)
• Have working knowledge of UNIX systems
• Use scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and enjoy interfacing with clients
• Be highly organised with a keen attention to detail
• Possess an understanding of Market Data/Order Entry systems or interest in electronic markets
• Be excited to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Industry experience and/or Series 7 or 57 certification is preferred, but not required
• Incredibly organised, with a high attention to detail
