Job summary

The Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERI@N) seeks an Electrical System Integration Engineer to operate, maintain, test and integrate BESS, solar PV, PCS and related electrical infrastructure at the EPGC test facility.

You will coordinate with researchers, contractors and vendors, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and support deployment and commissioning of new energy technologies while ensuring safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering, specialized in Power Systems.
• 10 years of working experience in electrical power systems and energy projects.
• Knowledge of LV/MV distribution, transformers, switchgear and power quality.
• Experience with BESS, PCS, renewable energy systems and grid applications.
• Experience in electrical system integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Knowledge of safety practices, permit-to-work, LOTO, and risk assessments.
• Proficiency in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Familiarity with SCADA, monitoring platforms, and data acquisition systems.
• Strong contractor/vendor management and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain BESS, solar PV, PCS, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for safe, reliable operation.
• Support installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and decommissioning of new energy tech.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors and service providers on site.
• Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis.
• Ensure works comply with safety regulations, permits, and industry standards.
• Prepare technical documentation, maintenance records, and test reports.
• Provide hands-on technical support for research, testing and demonstrations.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies in energy storage, renewables, microgrids, and smart energy systems.
• Manage maintenance schedules, spare parts, and service contracts; liaise with stakeholders.
