Job summary

Wuxi Biologics Biopharmaceuticals Singapore Private Limited is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support plant equipment lifecycle, from installation through commissioning to ongoing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Key duties include coordinating project activities, ensuring electrical systems are installed and tested, documenting procedures, and supporting 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher Nitec in Electrical/Mechatronic/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as Maintenance Technician.

• Hands-on experience in electrical and instrumentation with commissioning, calibration, and maintenance exposure.
• Familiarity with CMMS like Maximo or SAP.

• Experience in inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of electrical and control equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Technician and Engineers in coordinating project activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support electrical systems construction, installation and commissioning with site supervision, testing and punch lists.
• Attend vendor training on operations and maintenance.
• Participate in daily site walkdowns to identify installation issues, defects and safety concerns.
• Report field discrepancies, safety observations and technical issues for closure.
• Support fault-finding and troubleshooting during installation, testing and startup.
• Develop and implement risk assessments (RA), SOPs, PM plans, and maintenance spare parts lists.
• Maintain inspection records, commissioning docs, defect reports, punch lists and test logs.
• Identify equipment failures, wiring issues, control faults, and operational abnormalities.
• Escalate complex issues to senior technicians/engineers or vendors.
• Perform Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) per procedures and safety rules.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, electrical safety standards, permits-to-work, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in JSA, risk assessments, safety observations, toolbox talks and EHS inspections.
• Assist in receiving, checking and organizing spare parts and maintenance tools.
• Support shift operations and be available for rotational shift duties to support 24/7 operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or plant management to support maintenance and continuity.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of plant equipment and systems—from installation and commissioning during the project phase to preventive maintenance and troubleshooting during operational phase. This role bridges engineering and maintenance functions, ensuring a smooth transition from project execution to reliable plant operations.

Responsibilities :

Project Phase

• Assist Lead Technician and Engineers in coordinating project activities with internal stakeholders (Construction, Site Engineering, EHS, Quality, Operations) and external parties (vendors, consultants, EPC contractors, MEP contractors, and service providers).

• Support construction, installation, and commissioning activities for Electrical systems through active site supervision, routine inspections, coordination meetings, troubleshooting, testing, and punch-list management.

• Attend vendor training on operations and maintenance

• Participate in daily site walkdowns and identify installation issues, construction defects, and safety concerns for timely resolution.

• Report field discrepancies, safety observations, and technical issues to the Lead Technician or Engineer and follow up on closure actions.

• Support fault-finding and troubleshooting activities during installation, testing, and startup.

Operation Phase

• Support site operational readiness activities, including development and implementation of Risk Assessment (RA), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans, Equipment assets register and critical spare parts lists.

• Maintain inspection records, commissioning documents, defect reports, punch lists, and test logs.

• Assist in identifying equipment failures, wiring issues, control faults, and operational abnormalities.

• Escalate complex issues beyond basic troubleshooting capabilities to senior technicians, engineers, or vendors.

• Perform Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) activities in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance requirements.

• Ensure all work activities comply with company EHS requirements, electrical safety standards, permit-to-work procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments, safety observations, toolbox meetings, and EHS inspections.

• Assist in receiving, checking, and organizing spare parts, maintenance tools, consumables, and equipment deliveries.

• Support shift operations and be available for rotational shift duties as required to support commissioning and 24/7 plant operations.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or plant management to support maintenance and operational continuity.

Requirement :

• Diploma/Higher Nitec in Electrical/Mechatronic/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in performing duties equivalent to Maintenance Technician.

• Hands-on experience in Electrical and Instrumentation systems, with strong technical exposure to commissioning, calibration, and maintenance activities

• Familiarity with and prior hands-on experience with CMMS systems like Maximo or SAP.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

• Ability to learn and work effectively with the plant's Distributed Control System (DCS), with the ability to interpret the P&I diagram and process flow diagram.

• Experience in system walkdown, inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of electrical and control equipment.
