Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking a Technical Officer to support operation of electrical engineering laboratories and workshops. You will manage assets, inventory, procurement, and the maintenance of labs to ensure a safe, compliant training environment.

You will perform maintenance and repairs, prepare training materials, and coordinate with vendors while ensuring records are audit-ready and aligned with ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Suitable credentials in Electrical Engineering or related technical disciplines.
• Relevant experience in laboratory, workshop or technical support environments.
• Experience in asset management, inventory control and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of laboratory/workshop safety practices and equipment maintenance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems or operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical engineering laboratories and workshops, including equipment and training systems.
• Perform maintenance, servicing and repairs of lab equipment.
• Manage assets, stores and inventory, including tagging and stock checks.
• Handle procurement of equipment, consumables and training materials.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory and workshop training materials and equipment.
• Support setup and operational readiness of labs for practical training and assessments.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and institutional procedures.
• Maintain documentation and records related to maintenance, inventory, procurement and safety.
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring facilities and records are audit-ready.
• Perform other operational or administrative duties as assigned.
