Job summary

ABB PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineering Leader to drive strategy and oversee the Engineering function within the local division.

You will lead the Electrical engineering team, coordinate resources, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across E-House, Electrification, and related interfaces. You will define targets, mentor multidisciplinary teams, strengthen customer relationships, and contribute to strategy implementation.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience delivering complex engineering solutions, including major oil & gas and offshore projects.
• Proven People Manager and Mentor with ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Outstanding Communicator and Influencer with stakeholders, vendors and project teams.
• Customer-Centric and Results-Driven professional with ownership and collaboration.
• Recognized technical expertise in E-House integrated solutions, with design and execution knowledge.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Fluent in English with clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, coordinate, drive, and oversee team development and continual improvement of processes.
• Lead the Electrical engineering team and manage processes to ensure high quality, safe, and compliant deliverables.
• Define and assign business targets focusing on safety, on-time delivery, quality and margin improvement.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and provide innovative solutions meeting requirements.
• Provide engineering input during bidding and work with sales for system optimizations.
• Regularly review engineering progress, share best practices, and mitigate risks.

Job description

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic direction, leadership, management, and coordination of the Engineering function within a local division / product group. Each day, you will initiate, coordinate, drive, and oversee team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability. You will lead the Electrical engineering team and manage the engineering processes and resources to ensure the team maintains a high quality, reliable set of deliverables with safety, integrity, financial and contractual requirements. You will also showcase your expertise by driving the team’s performance to ensure assigned engineering operations are executed successfully.

• Managing the electrical engineering that encapsulate the entire portfolio of ABB in the selected segment comprising of E-House, Electrification, interfacing with PMS, ICSS / DCS, E&I, HVAC and F&G elements.

• Defining and assigning the business targets to the teams with a focus on safety, on time delivery, quality and margin improvement.

• Providing input to the local division / product group strategy and acting as a key player in its implementation and in strengthening a business model relevant to the scope of engineering.

• Leading the local engineering teams that are responsible for solutions, products, or sector areas and ensuring end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of projects on time.

• Building and maintaining customer relationships, seeking feedback, and providing innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and deliver improvements.

• Providing engineering support during bidding stage, works with sales team for system optimizations on both technical innovations and profit improvement.

• Conducts engineering review regularly to ensure the engineering progress being monitored for all projects, best practices to be shared, lessons learnt to be implemented for quality improvement, risks to be identified and mitigated, opportunities to be maximized.

Qualifications for the role

• Seasoned Electrical Engineering Leader with 15+ years of experience delivering complex engineering solutions, including major oil & gas and offshore projects from concept through execution.

• Proven People Manager and Mentor with a strong track record of leading, developing, and inspiring multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve exceptional project outcomes.

• Outstanding Communicator and Influencer, able to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and project teams across all levels of an organization.

• Customer-Centric and Results-Driven Professional who brings a proactive mindset, strong ownership, and a collaborative approach to solving challenges and delivering value.

• Recognized Technical Expertise in E-House Integrated Solutions, with deep practical knowledge of design, engineering, integration, and project execution.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline.

• Fluent in English, with the confidence and professionalism to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal settings.
