Job summary

UDPS Electrical PTE. LTD.

in Singapore is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and ongoing improvement of electrical and automated control systems across production and facility operations. The role combines strong electrical engineering fundamentals with industrial automation expertise to improve equipment reliability, safety, productivity, and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, industrial automation, electrical maintenance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in supervisory, engineering management, project leadership, or technical leadership.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical systems, industrial automation, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in busbar fabrication, busbar system design, and switchgear modification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design, development, modification, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and automation systems for machinery, production lines, and facility equipment.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, sensors, actuators, and other industrial control systems.
  • Design, fabricate, modify, and maintain busbar systems and electrical switchgear, including supporting upgrades and modifications to existing installations.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment, control panels, switchboards, and electrical systems.
  • Plan and manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical, control, automation, and mechatronic systems to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose electrical faults, control-system issues, and automation malfunctions, and implement effective root-cause solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic, panel drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Lead automation, equipment improvement, and process-improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers on procurement, installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and technical support.
  • Ensure all electrical and automation systems comply with applicable safety requirements, electrical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance, supervision, coaching, and training to engineers, technicians, and operators as required.
  • Support operational requirements, including shift support, emergency troubleshooting, and on-call coverage where necessary.

Electrical Engineering Manager

The Electrical Engineering Managerwill lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians and oversee thedesign, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and improvement of electricaland automated control systems across production and facility operations. The successful candidate will workclosely with production, maintenance, and project teams to ensure reliableplant operations, drive continuous improvement, and provide technicalleadership and direction to the engineering and maintenance team.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and oversee the design, development, modification, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and automation systems for machinery, production lines, and facility equipment.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Automation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, industrial automation, electrical maintenance, or a related field within a manufacturing, facilities, or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory, engineering management, project leadership, or technical leadership role.
  • Strong hands‑on experience in electrical systems, industrial automation, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in busbar fabrication, busbar system design, and switchgear modification.
TechnicalSkills
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, control panels, and industrial electrical installations.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably with platforms such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell, or Omron.
  • Familiarity with SCADA and HMI systems, VFDs, industrial communication networks, sensors, instrumentation, and actuators.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and panel layouts.
  • Working knowledge of automation, mechatronic system integration, and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of busbar systems, electrical switchgear, control panels, and associated modifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills for electrical and automation systems.

  • Knowledge of energy management, predictive maintenance, and equipment reliability improvement practices.
  • Experience with electrical system upgrades, plant expansion, or major equipment installation projects.
  • Experience working with regional vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
