Job summary

PECON Engineering & Solution is seeking an E&I engineer to support switchgear design, AutoCAD drafting, and PLC programming for SIEMENS, ABB, and Rockwell systems. The role involves preparing electrical drawings, reviewing P&ID, and coordinating RFQ with vendors.

You will participate in site meetings, ensure integration with control systems, and assist in instrument loop documentation and fieldbus networking. Singapore-based on-site work with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Certificate-based qualifications in PLC programming, AutoCAD, and industrial automation.
• Experience in reading P&ID and instrument lists is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement HT/LT switchgear and E&I systems for plant installations.
• Prepare E&I drawings and control system architecture.
• Review P&ID, process data, and instrument lists; coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with other disciplines to resolve E&I issues.

Job description

• Requires knowledge in HT & LT switchgear design, calculations, E-tap standby supply, installation, and commissioning.
• Well knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing works
• Able to perform PLC programming for SIEMENS, ABB, and Rockwell Automation brands
• Prepare E&I engineering drawings
• RFQ for E&I vendors and subcontract
• Review P&ID, Process data and extract instrument list, specification, I/O list, instrument loop drawing, and hook-up drawing.
• Review process control narrative and prepare cause & effect matrix, interlock, alarms requirement at SCADA HMI or system.
• Prepare the control system architecture with tie-in to the existing plant communication architecture and integration to field controllers and instruments via industrial field bus communication (e.g Ethernet TCP/IP, Profibus, Modbus etc.)
• Prepare fiber-optic cable routing, splicing, and patch panel requirements based on the developed system architecture with plant layout.
• DCS/PLC I/O assignment and spare I/O Point reservation for plant expansion.
• Marshalling panel and control panel design work.
• Prepare electrical SLD and electrical load list based on static / rotating equipment list and lighting and small power requirements.
• Develop MCC typical control schematic drawing with panel specification for RFQ to MCC panel vendor.
• Prepare simple work specifications or method statement MS & RA.
• Perform instrument loop /function check and witness inspections with the client.
• Attend site weekly meetings to resolve the E&I-related issues and coordinate with the other disciplines.

Requirements

• Required: Certificate in PLC programming, AUTO CAD in inter mediate level, Certificate of Basic Industrial Automation & Instrumentation.

Prefer to Have:

• Certificate of Power Quality and Effects of Earthing Design.
• Understanding& implementing Design for Safety (DfS), developing & implementing ISO14001.
