Job summary

V-Bunkers Tankers Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a Marine Electrical Engineer (ETO) to operate and maintain switchboards, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, and power distribution panels aboard vessels. You will monitor engine room sensors, alarms, and automated machinery to ensure safe operation.

You will also maintain bridge electronics including GMDSS, GPS, radars and navigational lights, diagnose faults, and perform preventive repairs across deck, engine and accommodation spaces,

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/ Marine Engineering.
• ETO Certificate of Competency.
• Mandatory STCW Basic Safety Training and specialized endorsements such as High Voltage Safety and Engine Room Resource Management.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate meeting IMO standards, vision and color perception for color-coded wiring and alarms.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain main and emergency switchboards, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, and power distribution panels.
• Monitor engine room sensors, alarms, and automated machinery.
• Maintain bridge electronics, GMDSS equipment, GPS, radars, and navigational lights.
• Diagnose electrical/electronic faults and perform emergency or preventive repairs across deck, engine, and accommodation spaces.
• Work under the Chief Engineer, cooperating with deck and shore-based technicians.

Job description

• Maintain bridge electronics, Global Maritime Distress and Safety System GMDSS equipment, GPS, radars, and navigational lights
• Diagnose electrical or electronic faults and execute emergency or preventive repairs across deck, engine, and accommodation spaces
• Work under the Chief Engineer as part of the engineering department, cooperating with both deck and shore-based technicians

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Marine Engineering
• ETO Certificate of Competency
• Mandatory STCW Basic Safety Training and specialized endorsements such as High Voltage Safety and Engine Room Resource Management.
• Valid seafarer medical fitness certificate meeting International Maritime Organization IMO standards, including good vision and non-color-blindness required for color-coded wiring and alarms.
