HOPE Technik Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, test and troubleshoot electrical systems for multidisciplinary projects. The individual is part of the electrical team and is responsible for the design, integration, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems for multidisciplinary engineering projects. The role requires a sound understanding of low-voltage power distribution, single-line diagrams and three-phase electrical systems. The individual will work closely with mechanical, controls, software, production and project teams to deliver safe, reliable and compliant solutions within the agreed schedule and budget.
Conduct feasibility studies and support the development of electrical concepts during the early stages of projects.
Translate customer and project requirements into electrical engineering specifications and design requirements.
Prepare, review and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules and related technical documentation.
Design and integrate single-phase and three-phase low-voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, protection devices, motors, variable-frequency drives and power supplies.
Perform basic electrical calculations, including load estimation, cable sizing, voltage drop, circuit protection and equipment selection.
Select and integrate suitable electrical, control, IoT and power-management components in accordance with project requirements.
Design electrical circuits, control panels, cable harnesses, looms and equipment interconnections.
Ensure appropriate earthing, bonding, isolation, protection and electrical safety provisions are incorporated into the design.
Create bills of materials, technical drawings, work instructions and build or rework instructions for the production team.
Support panel assembly, equipment installation, system integration, testing and commissioning activities in the workshop and at customer sites.
Develop and execute electrical inspection and test plans, including continuity, insulation, functional and system-level tests where applicable.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults involving power distribution, control circuits, sensors, actuators, motors and field wiring.
Provide timely technical support to production and project teams and resolve design or installation issues.
Maintain accurate design records and ensure drawings and documentation are updated to reflect the final as-built configuration.
Comply with applicable electrical standards, workplace safety requirements and company procedures.
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
Able to read, interpret and prepare single-line diagrams, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Good working knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, low-voltage power distribution, circuit protection, earthing and electrical safety.
Familiarity with control panels, motors, contactors, relays, circuit breakers, variable-frequency drives, sensors and industrial electrical components.
Hands-on ability in electrical installation, testing, commissioning and systematic fault-finding.
Familiarity with electrical CAD or schematic design software is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of PLC-based control systems and industrial communication interfaces is an advantage.
Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
Organised, safety-conscious and able to manage assigned work to meet project schedules and quality requirements.
