Job summary

RMR INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Singapore to design electrical systems, review drawings, and ensure project compliance. You will supervise installation, coordinate with contractors, and perform testing and commissioning to deliver safe, reliable power distribution and control systems.

The role requires strong reading of SLDs, schematics, and technical documents, plus practical troubleshooting and communication skills for cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Prepare and review electrical drawings, SLDs, load schedules, cable sizing, and calculations.
• Design electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, earthing, ELV, and control schemes.
• Evaluate technical specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements and codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation of electrical equipment, switchgear, cabling, distribution panels and control systems.
• Coordinate with contractors, technicians, and vendors for smooth installation and timely completion.
• Ensure all works comply with SS638, SS555, EMA regulations, and safety standards.
• Perform functional tests, IR testing, continuity tests, and system performance checks.
• Inspect and verify electrical installations before energization.
• Prepare T&C reports and documentation for client submission.
• Diagnose electrical faults, equipment failures, and power supply issues.
• Recommend corrective actions and preventive maintenance programs.
• Attend project meetings and provide engineering updates.
• Prepare method statements, as-built drawings, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering

Prepare and review electrical drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), load schedules, cable sizing, and calculations.

Develop electrical system designs for power distribution, lighting, earthing, ELV, and control systems.

Evaluate technical specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements and codes.

2. Installation & Project Execution

Supervise the installation of electrical equipment, switchgear, cabling, distribution panels and control systems.

Coordinate with contractors, technicians, and vendors for smooth installation and timely completion.

Ensure all works comply with SS638, SS555, EMA regulations, and safety standards.

3. Testing & Commissioning

Perform functional tests, IR testing, continuity tests, and system performance checks.

Inspect and verify electrical installations before energization.

Prepare T&C reports and documentation for client submission.

4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose electrical faults, equipment failures, and power supply issues.

Recommend corrective actions and preventive maintenance programs.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of electrical systems, switchgear, power distribution, and control systems.

Ability to read/prepare SLD, schematics, electrical layouts, and technical documents.

Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.

Familiar with electrical testing tools (multimeter, megger, earth tester, etc.).
