Job summary

EOS Innovation Singapore is seeking an electrical design engineer to support the development of advanced defence products. This hands-on role is embedded within multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electronic, optical, and systems engineers.

You will perform broad electrical design work with practical hardware verification for experimental subsystems, contributing to high-quality finished designs and products. The role requires a practical, hands-on approach close to prototypes and equipment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in electrical design and manufacturing.
• Experience with high-capacity portable power systems including generators and battery management systems.

Responsibilities

• Design safe, high-reliability power distribution systems for complex demand profiles.
• Develop electrical interfaces, wiring harnesses, networks and interconnections.
• Apply local and international standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to resolve issues and achieve coherent engineering outcomes.
• Produce clear records of design, integration and verification for future reuse.
• Integrate designs on real-world equipment and validate performance.

It will suit engineers who enjoy solving practical problems, working close to prototypes and equipment, and generating high-quality finished designs and products.

Responsibilities

• Design safe, high-reliability power distribution systems that meet complex demand profiles and perform effectively in challenging environments.
• Develop electrical interfaces, cable routes, wiring harnesses, networks and equipment interconnections that perform reliably in harsh and constrained operating environments.
• Identify and apply relevant local and international standards to support product safety, product quality, regulatory compliance and customer acceptance.
• Work closely and productively with local and international contractors and suppliers to develop strong relationships, resolve technical issues and achieve coherent engineering outcomes.
• Participate in technical and formal design reviews, presenting electrical design work clearly, resolving interface questions and incorporating feedback into improved engineering outcomes.
• Produce clear records of design, integration and verification work so that other engineers can understand, maintain and reuse the document set in future work.
• Contribute to the architecture of a cutting-edge, world-class development and production facility as a subject matter expert.
• Perform hands-on integration tasks to install and validate designs on real-world equipment, troubleshooting issues and recording outcomes where necessary.

Education and Experience

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in electrical design and manufacturing.
• Experience with high-capacity portable power systems, including generators, state-of-the-art battery packages and battery management systems.
• Proven success in generating wiring schemes, wiring diagrams and verification results, and carrying these through from concept to production.
• Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams on projects of varying size, scope and technical complexity.
• Experience working in defence, safety-critical, regulated or other high-integrity engineering environments is beneficial.
