Job summary

C M R (FAR EAST) PTE LTD in Singapore's Sales & Project Department is seeking a capable Proposal & Project Engineer to prepare accurate technical, commercial, and cost proposals for electrical, automation, and other engineering solutions.

You will manage awarded projects from contract award through procurement, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and commissioning, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• 1-2 years of experience in proposal or design electrical and automation solutions.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer-facing experience.
• Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance daily processes.

Responsibilities

• Review enquiries, specifications, drawings and tender documents for electrical and automation projects.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals including costing and risk assessment.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production and Quality teams to ensure timely submissions.
• Serve as the primary customer contact for technical, commercial and project matters.
• Manage awarded projects from contract award to delivery and commissioning.
• Monitor progress, schedules, costs, and deliverables, addressing risks and issues.
• Coordinate submissions, inspections, FATs and commissioning activities when required.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
