Job summary

EXASYNTH PTE. LTD. seeks a hands-on Field Service Engineer (Electrical & Automation) to support automated laboratory systems at a Singapore research institute.

The role focuses on equipment reliability, electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, commissioning and daily technical support on-site. The successful candidate will undergo 1–2 months of structured hands-on training in China before assuming full site responsibilities in Singapore, with potential to train additional engineers as

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
• Hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, commissioning or technical support.
• Practical electrical troubleshooting using common test tools.
• Able to work on-site in a laboratory environment.
• English communication; Mandarin for coordination with China team.
• Willing to travel occasionally for training or project support.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for automated laboratory equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and equipment faults.
• Inspect wiring, power supplies, sensors, relays, motors, drivers and basic I/O components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, checks and fault recovery.
• Support installation, system integration, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain maintenance records, service logs and SOPs.
• Identify recurring issues and support reliability improvements.
• Follow safety procedures and site requirements.
• Support knowledge transfer and training of future field engineers.
